In a statement, Professor Dr. Haider Abdul-Ridha Al-Tamimi confirmed that these discussions represent a pivotal academic stage in the students’ journey, due to their role in refining their research skills and enhancing their academic capabilities, noting that such activities contribute to preparing students to move to advanced academic stages, particularly postgraduate studies, through building an integrative relationship between the student and the supervisor based on sound scientific guidance and continuous follow-up.
For her part, the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Amal Abdulrahman Abdulwahid, explained that the department adopts a gradual scientific methodology in preparing students, beginning from the third stage through theoretical and methodological qualification, culminating in the fourth stage with practical application through graduation projects, emphasizing that this continuity in preparation and follow-up contributes to improving the quality of research and achieving distinguished scientific outputs that align with labor market requirements.
In the same context, Professor Dr. Ali Abdul-Samad, supervisor of the graduation research course, indicated that the supervisory role is not limited to immediate guidance, but extends to include precise and continuous follow-up of the stages of research completion from its beginnings until the day of discussion, ensuring the achievement of the desired scientific objectives and enhancing students’ commitment to academic standards in preparing their research.
The discussions were organized according to a flexible schedule that took into account the availability of faculty members, where two examiners were assigned for each student, whose evaluation marks are combined with the supervisor’s grade to form the final grade of the graduation project.
The sessions concluded with presenting a number of scientific recommendations that emphasized the importance of continuing to develop students’ research skills and encouraging them toward innovation and creativity, in a way that enhances their academic excellence and reflects the department’s commitment to establishing a solid culture of scientific research and building an academic generation capable of continuing its scientific path with competence and efficiency.
