The Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah organized a panel discussion entitled (Developing and Improving Visual and Aesthetic Elements in the Old Basrah Area).

The panel, in which Assistant Professor Dr. Salem Jassim Salman lectured, included an applied study of the research topic and his use of descriptive and quantitative approaches in the standards of beauty, architecture, and elements of art, linking them to geography and psychology.

The lecturer presented several conclusions, suggestions, and geographical visions to develop and improve the city’s current situation, considering it a prominent city in the Arab world with its economic status and rich heritage.
