The Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah organized a scientific trip for postgraduate students (Master and Ph.D. – Human Geography Branch -) to the port of Umm Qasr, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Amal Saleh Abboud, Assist.Prof.Dr. Hamid Attia Abdel Hussein, and Assist.Prof.Dr. Adel Abdel Ameer Abboud, Dr. Hala Mahmoud al-Baghdadi, and the chemist Zuhair Awwad.

The scientific trip aims to view the reality of maritime transport, the nature of berthing, loading and unloading of ships , and the nature of the division of regional waters between Iraq and the State of Kuwait, as well as see the reality of the challenges facing the maritime transport sector.
